1. Raindreams

From the recording Raindreams

The rain beats down in shrouded sheets
In shades of ghostly grey
Outside the wind is whispering your name
The afternoon is cloaked in gloom
As night eclipses day
The sound of thunder echoing my pain

Rain, rain go away
Or I, too, shall fall
All my dreams are lost in lies
Nothing left at all

I ask you if your love for me
Is something that will last
You answer me, but still give no reply
For while you live you can’t forgive
The pain within our past
Betrayal that will haunt me ‘til I die

I’m caught within truth’s stranglehold
As darkness now descends
I’m clenched within the fist of fate’s cruel hand
And still the rain beats on my pain
Transparent, without end
Like waves of sorrow washed upon the sand
